It is completely up to you and may depend on your organization's current situation and evolution. You can model various scenarios using the available financial models and simulator. You can access the simulator in your portal which is free to setup.

You can limit the amount of equity initially available, and can also increase that amount for fundraising and/or compensation at any time.

Many early-stage ventures start by allocating 10% for employees (like an ESOP), and then use approximately 5-40% for early fundraising efforts, but there are many different variables and situations to analyze with your counsel to make sure your organization is properly setup for future success.
